Just watched the Video Boot on public access. During the encore 'The Weight', Vince sang the second verse, and Phil the third. Very nicely done. Jerry in his black sweat pants and black shirt seems light on his feet. It's not '73 energy, but nice to see the old man play Black Peter so beautifully... "One more day I find myself alive tomorrow maybe go beneath the ground" As the tenth anniversary of Jerry's death comes around, these words hit bone.

Sweet Show! I remember the anticipation of the Band's return after Jerry's latest health scare. Let the Good Times Roll started out pretty quiet 'til the Sound Guys got things crankin'. The whole band sounded real fresh after the hiatus with a lot of cookin' energy. Scarlet/Fire was awesome. I also recall getting out of the muddy parking lot after the show, heading over to Garcia's Mexican Restaurant for dinner and the long walk into the show the next day, keeping a watchful eye out for Phoenix…

I was glued to the left side about thirty feet from Phil and did he ever deliver. The Uptempo Fire is stellar!! The quadrophonic sound at these shows was mind bogglingly wierd. recorded voices redelivered ala Dan Healy, Bob Bralove and Co.
