Well, I was sitting on 2nd row for this show. And had 2nd row for the next 2 shows at the Omni. Atlanta was my hometown but I had just gotten back from the 3 Cap Centre shows. At the Cap Centre I had been jonesin' for a Half-step & after NOT getting one....As we were leaving the Cap Centre parking lot, knowing we had 2nd row seats, I said "First set opener in Atlanta is gonna be Mississippi Half-step!" I don't know how I knew but I just knew it. For me it was a very excellent show.

This show sounds like a very strong performance, by 1993 standards. There is a bit of a hiss on this show, but it is still worth the listen/dl. Jerry's guitar work sounds great though, really energetic and immersed in the music. 4 star performance, 3 star sound. There are some points where things don't quite click, like the end of Maggies, and the beginning of Bird Song, but once things get going, the band does sound pretty darn good.

Wow, thanks so much for this site. I experienced my first rush of real LSD as these guys played Eyes that night. One of a handful of truly ecstatic experiences in my life. Hindsight only increasingly confirms how lucky I was to see this show as a first; saw several after, but this was the overall best of them - well, with the possible exception of 7.31.94. Cheers to the Stone Mountaineers and everyone else for the March Madness.
