ill NEVER include a "for this era" slant on any reviews, as i believe shows should stand on their own. sure, the 70's is very different from the 90's, but both had 5 star moments. anyway, the 2.5 hour marathan second set to close out vegas (5/16) the week before was hard to top, but this show at least stacks up in sound quality and has moments that equal the bliss from the week before.

You are nuts. Phil's voice is and always was VERY welcome. He is the Grateful Dead in many ways. As for wave to the wind, it may have been his weakest song, I don't know. The lyrics are actually kinda nice, especially after the rearrangement from the spring 92 versions. Phil was awesome in 93, and sang a song in almost every killer set in this year and beyond. He obviously is the one carrying the torch, nowadays, as well.

5 stars for the sound. can't beat it, don't care for the set list that much but the sound alone is worth it. so what if shoreline is landfill. it's such a fun place.
