Just listening to stream of 1st set. Excellent show. Much enthusiasm and everyone is sharp, Jerry's notes are deep and saturated. recording quality is rich as well. The last few nights at MSG were amazing, this night no exception with Dave Murray as guest. Only pick, I wish they had jammed more with D. Murray. This was my last show, my wife to-be by my side. After a year with a couple stinkers for shows, and some real gems, these MSG shows were mint.

A slammin' Help on the Way gets things started on this very crisp SBD. You can feel how eager the band is to get it going while tuning, then WHAM! Phil is prominent in the mix and he is a beast on this night. An odd start to the second set (Easy, Lazy) should not be overlooked before sampling the killer Estimated which melts in to a single verse Dark Star that doesn't disappoint. Space thru Lovelight shines with a spectacular Wharf Rat - David Murray is just a freak on the sax.

I was in the third row for this killer show. Was not familiar with David Murray beforehand, but came to love jazz a few years later. The opening Help>Slipknot>Franklins just kicked the door down. The Dark Star in set2 was great. Anyone who attended a bunch of Dead shows remembers the vibe walking out afterward. Sometimes the band was off. Sometimes they were pretty good, and sometimes they were amazing. This was an amazing show. Make no doubt.
