Superior musicianship on Other One. crescendo of flowing energy, and rhythm; the band is gelled as one unit; true Grateful Dead. Vince is there but he is just playing, not showboating...which is great, cause thats when he is of value. I match the quality of this collective sound to most any; purely for the unity of insane sound. Anyone doubting 90's Dead has got to give this Other One a close ear. They were in command of the sound and their instruments.

...and I came across this show. I happen to like the '93 shows in spite of all their faults, and this one looked promising in part because the reviewers seem to exhibit a level of criticism that is realistic and not predicated upon the "every show is a great show" myth that too many Deadheads con themselves into believing.

Inspired playing for Set 1, a bit meandering though. By O1 and NFA they're having fun. A pretty damn good '94. Jerry dogs a verse of HC Sunshine, and he's starting to push the vocals a bit more than usual, his voice is sometimes sadly thin. The cigs and the dragon were definitely catching up with him. Poor bastard. I was lucky enough to get backstage and sit in front of the front row barrier for set 2. I vividly recall Jerry goofing on Bobby's Buddy Holly impersonation during NFA.
