The Dead loved playing Boston over the years and this run was no different. This year they started the tour there and this was the third show of the run and it was a gem. The first set is rock solid with a ripping Bucket/Peggio opener. The rest of the set is extremly well played with the band really finishing strong with a long BE Women> Let it Grow to end the first set.Jerry plays some amazing solos and these versions are passionate and dynamic.

I had to take a somewhat stressful oral/verbal exam in Boston on this date to get my board certification in anesthesiology. I was relieved to see that the Dead was going to be there with me. I grabbed a ticket to this show and the previous night. I rode up on the train from Philly with several other 'heads, checked in to a plac ein Cambridge, headed to the brew pub, then to the show on the 28th. By the time I got in to sleep, I slept great...totally relaxed and with a good vibe.

The crowd energy at this one was amazing. Does anyone remember the gigantic inflatable ball that got passed up from the floor, in about the middle on Vinces side, to the top row of the stands during set break? The whole placed was fixed on the ball, calling together in delight every time the ball made it one section higher.
