I remember this whole Fall '94 run at MSG as being a lot of fun, and consistently good. The two shows that stood out in my mind at the time were 10/14 and 10/17, and they've stayed with me the most. However, I downloaded this show-- which I literally hadn't heard since the very night that I was there, and I gotta say that it sounds really damn good all the way through. What a hell of a first set-- with both Dupree's and Loose Lucy, etc.

I had just turned 9 years old when my dad took me to see this show. Really cool to look back on, because there's nothing like this anymore, and I sincerely doubt many people my age have had a chance to see The Grateful Dead. I was looking forward to October 95, hoping they'd play the Garden again, so I could go with my dad again, but as everybody knows, Jerry passed away the summer after this show.

The first set has Garcia in rare form, nailing every one of his tunes with Loser and Duprees shining best. The Let it Grow is also a corker. Set 2 brings a great Foolish Heart into playin->UJB. Which I must say was no where near as good as the 10/5/94 combo, still a solid version but 10/5 has some pretty tasty jamming post UJB. The other1>wharf rat is where the show just keeps going at a nice steady pace, building up to a climax with the best JBG of the year and probably a few years b4.
