I have waited to get a SBD recording of this show for just over nine years and my friends at the archive you just made my day, AGAIN!! This was probably the single best show of 95. From the Hell in a Bucket right into the hottest Candyman I have ever heard then the first Take Me to the River, which was a nice suprise indeed, then lazy River Road, Masterpiece, Childhoods End all the way up to a JAMMIN JAMMIN Deal to end the first set. Second set Foolish Heart (whooo hoooo) opener.

The last time the dead played Memphis was '72. To play "in a pyramid." To send the City Council a treatise of what was to come. About 10,000 "new citizens" will be dropping off at your doorstep, for the weekend. The cops were so cool. I was proud, having been born and spread in Memphis. I had been to so many of these cats towns; and it was finaly nice to have everyone in my home town. Jerry and Bobby were sitting on the bus before the show.

To begin with I consider this version the best I have heard though I have not heard the '03 Buckeye. My comment has to do with the sonics of the audience tape warping through the arena vaporizing my emotions as Jerry plays the notes against the walls bringing it all into a thrilling full bodied sea of glorious musical phenomena that isn't captured by the board. Like most DHs I carefully listen for my favorites and I really, really like this one.
