I'm listening to this Dark Star right now...trippy s*** man. No seriously though this one kicks a**. Personally I my favorite period for Dark Star is '72-'74. There are just too many amazing versions. This is one of those ones that sorta drops into a spacey bit for a while all the instruments mingle if you will with each other. Phil does some awesome stuff with his bass starting around the 12:00 mark.

A 1st set that is as long as many shows in the 1980s! The Dead showed in early 1972 that they can play a First Set that is fully electric yet is as mellow as any acoustic set they ventured in 1970. Somewhere during Cumberland, Looks Like Rain I am so blown away by this band. Give a good listen to Phil's backing vocals during Weir's pristine LLR.
