box set Volume 14. Nice Mr.. Charlie. Bob has great vocal on Black Throated Wind. Killer Loser. The Other One into one of my favorite versions of Bobby McGee back into Other One! Whoa.

- ★★★★★ · TOO for the ages! · kochman · 2014
Bertha actually starts with some slight SQ issues, which I wasn’t aware of on the E72 release prior to this listen (first time listening to this show from boxed set). Nice energy out of the gate. MAMU, Bob brings us out to the “Old American West”. Pigpen is louder in this show than in many, and I barely hear Keith. Mr. Charlie is sung soulfully by Pigpen. China>Rider, nice early placement. Jerry takes his time in the mid-song solo. The transition jam has a strong blues leaning.
- ★★★★★ · "the cocaine was far too good" · Cliff Hucker · 2010
"Amsterdam, where the Concertgebouw was a jewel of a theater, the cocaine was far too good..." Dennis McNally Perhaps overshadowed by the monumental performances preceeding and following it, this treasure might be the most overlooked gem of the Europe '72 tour. This vastly underrated show is extremely well played from start to finish. Virtually every song is a standout performance. The sound quality is superb and the mix lively.
- ★★★★★ · A magical night with the GRATEFUL DEAD · oh_uh_um_ah · 2008
The recording quality is not as good as May 04, 1972(Olympia Theater, Paris, France). Who cares? Is the tape a tiny bit fast? Sounds like it to me, especially after listening to the afforementioned show. Who cares? With that said, the GRATEFUL DEAD come on hotter than Death Valley in the summertime...and they don't let up. This is a hard show to beat. You will be searching the IA a long time looking for a better show than this. 5 songs by Pigpen is always a treat.
