moved down from the loge after set one, my second dose kicked in and they just destroyed me. this set was all about phil just lighting it up and jerry tearing my heart to pieces. the dancin' had the place just freaking and then a seemingly bizaree into what was a flat out fantasitic BEW. phil went somewhere (alcapulco, bobby says?), my orange barrel kicks in full force to the polka and then it's just the phil and jerry show.

All the songs played on this sweet one-disc second set are outstanding, as is the sound quality. But "The Other One" > "Comes A Time" > "Playin' Reprise" sequence is showcase Dead. "The Other One" is compact but powerful with tasy jamming, and the segue into "Comes A Time" is musical telepathy . The jam at the end of "Comes A Time" is creative and fluid and oh-so-gradually weaves its way back into that familiar "Playin" motif. Very enjoyable listening!

  • ★★★★★ · An Amazing Set From An Amazing Time. · BruceH123 · 2004

The is one of the nicest second sets from this era. The playing is fantastic, and the sound quality of this recording is crystal clear. There is one major problem, and that is that the final line of Brokedown Palace cuts when Jerry sings "Listen to the river sing sweet/" Everything else is so good that it is difficult to complain, but when you hear, I mean don't hear it you too will feel like you've been slapped in the ear. It absolutely is worth the download.
