First night of a two night run. Absolutely smoking Shakedown to start the first set. The set list on this show is impressive just at a glance. Geoff said this version of Mama Tried is "garbage." I won't be quite that harsh but it is far from their best of this cover. Very nice to hear Might as Well. You don't hear that one much. Great Hell in a Bucket to start the second set followed up by an early Touch of Grey. Probably the earliest Dr. Mr. Fantasy that I have heard and it has some of the nicest guitar work of any version I have ever heard. It might be my favorite Fantasy. Keep Your Day Job as an encore which must have been a cool end to the evening.

How nice it was to be able to purchase 'Tour Packs' from GDTS for this tour. 11 shows for $111. I was taping and ended up sitting between the same tapers who'd also gotten tour packs at almost every show in our nice comfy reserved seats. So as to keep the number of mic stands to a minimum i would grab patches from the tapers on either side..it was most convienient & we made some swell friends...taper friends.

I will never forget this night. Every body walking out of the show was shaking thier heads say Wow!!! The sound on this show is representative of how I remeber this night sounded. Phil is just great in the 15 min. Shakedown. Phil is absolutely awsome through the whole night. This is one of my favorite Peggy-o's. I always found it incredible that the boy's pick up the same jam in Playin the next night. At the time I had not realized they didn't finish. I was a newbie relatively speaking.

Phenominal times here and in Portland Lewiston Oxford and so oh on It was a High Time vibrant beer over the hill motels blue lite and the music sent souls flying I met 2 guys in a volkswagon bug in the parking lot and traded a bunch of mushrooms for some home grown. We hadf to go back to canada on the 13th and in order to get rid of the homegrown i rolled a 26 paper joint which we smoked in the room before we left/
