Download Series Volume 9. - Jerry's playing is really on. Sweet a** Music Never Stopped. Hard to beat Jerry solo as far as this track goes. Followed by it's All Over Now, Baby Blue which is stellar. Probably one of the best Shakedowns outside of the 70s (and including some of them.) Better Dear Mr. Fantasy than on Without a Net and it flows right into Hey Jude!
Second night of the insanely good Alpine three night 89 run. Another smoker for sure. Touch to start sets a jovial tone followed by great Jack Straw. Jerry saws it down on Minglewood. Still super strong first set but the second starts with an awesome Sugar-Scarlet. Particularly funky start to Man Smart. Really pretty China Doll. Super strong soloing from Jerry on Dear Mr. Fantasy into blistering Hey Jude. Obviously Brent always slayed the vocal on these but Jerry's playing this night really struck me and it carries on into Throwing Stones. I always love when they open second set with Sugar and then close the set with Sunshine Daydream.
