This was the 1st time I had seen the band since writing them off after the horrible '82 Glens Falls show. I had heard lots of wonderful things in the previous couple years, so I decided to check them out again, and this show was great. Los Lobos warmed up (love them) and my buddy had scored terrific seats about 3 rows above the field looking right at Phil. It was wonderful. As noted, Garcia actually said hello to everyone which was a huge surprise.

what a great show, so many highlights for me. we parked 20 miles from the city and took a special train to the stadium, i was shrooming hard already and was sweating my butt off,it was so hot that day...fantastic FOTD>truckin>he's gone (10 stars for that outtro alone!)still gives me shivers to hear brent (RIP) give a last howl as phil holds his last note and jerry kicks into eyes. everything seemed to sparkle that night.

This was my first Dead show, at 18 I hade plenty of time to follow the whole summer tour. It was a summer and a half, definately one to be remembered. I have collected quite a little pile of tapes over the years but this one always eluded me. Great quality recording (as these things go) and a wonderful way to close out this summer, remembering great ones gone by. Thanks very much to the kind soul who uploaded this gem, made my day!
